  5. Unfortunately, neither Boromir nor Faramir work on Lenovo S5000 (failed to root the device, error #9). Tested today, with apk version 1.8.1.

  6. New version (apk 1.9.0) successfully rooted my Lenovo S5000-F (at least it says so, I haven’t rebooted yet). The new exploit is called Barahir. Word of advice: if you want to root the tablet, skip the firmware update, so that the exploit has a chance to work…

    • to: GS, can i root my s5000 after i done the firmware update using that 1.9.0 version? because i dont know t at all about rooting this device before …

    • I have a Lenovo S5000-F too, and am thinking of rooting it, in order to be able to lower the brightness of the backlights.

Can you confirm that Framaroot successfully rooted your Lenovo S5000-F AFTER you rebooted the machine?

When I got my my Lenovo S5000-F a couple of weeks ago, I am pretty sure that it updated the operating system automatically, or that I updated it myself, from the Settings menu. If I DID update the OS, will Framaroot still root the machine successfully?
